When rabies was rampant in the domestic dog population back in the 40s, a shot once every three years wiped out the virus in domestic dogs.

However, in NJ, pet owners are required to now whack their housepets with the vaccine twice in the first 2 years of administration and as frequently thereafter as the pet owner can be coerced. Other states are even worse I've learned ----yet the USDA dragged it's feet on the approval of the Wistar vaccine to eliminate rabies in wildlife and ALLOWED all the eastern states to become infected. All F&G did was "monitor" the spread, despite rampant lobbying by the public back in the early 1990s.

The infected wildlife is being used as the spin to justify overdosing the housepets now.

I am aghast as to how the more popular brands that we have are no longer that trustworthy! These pet food recalls continue until now, and I am deeply troubled that pet food companies care more for their bottom line than the well being of our pets! I have since been more vigilant about what I feed my pets though!
